Flamma Aeterna K1 fire wick is a mix of aramid materials (e.g., KEVLAR^® and NOMEX^®) and fiberglass and is the most popular wick in the firedancing community today; if you are uncertain what type of wick you are using, it is probably this blend, regardless of where you obtained it. It is distinguished by it's yellow-orange color.

The K1 1/4 in. fire wick material is very durable, and equipment made with it has a longer lifetime compared to wicks made with 1/16 or 1/8 in. material. It is highly suggested for staves that are dropped a lot or poi that are spun on the ground to generate fire circles, or even for poi that you also use as practice poi.

Fire wick is sold in continuous lengths, priced per-foot. Fire wick orders greater than 100 ft that are not multiples of 100 will contain multiple segments.
